      Lina is a lifelong New Jersey resident, has dedicated more than of decade of her career working with community-based organizations, foundations, and local, county, and statewide government agencies to improve the health and well-being of New Jersey’s underserved communities and underrepresented groups. In her former role as a Senior Research Associate at Montclair State University’s Center for Research and Evaluation on Education and Human Services (CREEHS), Ms. Acosta provided applied research and evaluation services to public health, human services, and education agencies. Lina was involved with the development of scope of works, workplans, and monitoring the project budgets. In addition to her administrative duties, Lina provided technical assistance to clients, communicated with a diverse group of stakeholders, developed data collection instruments, analyzed data, created high quality deliverables, and most importantly worked closely with and mentored junior staff in developing their research and evaluation skills. Prior to joining CREEHS, Ms. Acosta worked in the child welfare system in both a research and advocacy role. In her numerous roles at the advocacy Center, Ms. Acosta had the opportunity to work collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecution, child protection, mental health and medical professionals in advocating and providing support to the child victims of abuse and their families. Ms. Acosta holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Quantitative Methods from Rutgers University School of Public Health - Newark. Her areas of interest include needs assessments, aging in place, childhood obesity, and policy, systems, and environmental change around healthy eating, active living, and social determinants of health as well as mental health.

      Teneele is a south Jersey girl, living and working in a Maryland world as a maternal health professional who is dedicated to eliminating maternal and child health disparities experienced by Black women, children, and families. Currently, she serves as Maternal Health Coordinator with Baltimore Healthy Start and project team member of the Baltimore Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative, funded by Merck for Mothers. Teneele received her graduate degree in Biomedical Science from Rowan University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Individualized Studies in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Teneele’s work is currently concentrated on decreasing incidences of both maternal and infant morbidity & mortality and the impact they have on African American women and families- in the state of Maryland, specifically, and in the United States. Teneele aspires to have a meaningful impact on marginalized communities, from birth to adulthood. She is a Biologist, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, Birth Doula, Yoga Instructor, and Herbalist, and has assisted with 20+ births. She also works and serves with organizations that center community health, birth equity, Black maternal health, and health policy, such as the National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB) and the Reproductive Health Equity Alliance of Maryland (RHEAM). Teneele endeavors to use education, storytelling for change, and empowerment to amplify the voices and experiences of Black birthing people.       Adriana (she, her, ella) is the inaugural Director of Health Affairs Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Illinois Chicago. In this position, which is housed in both the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Engagement, Adriana will guide, monitor, and evaluate the Anti-Racism Initiatives and Advancing Racial Equity plans for the seven Health Sciences Colleges: UIC College of Applied Health Sciences, UIC College of Dentistry, The University of Illinois College of Medicine, UIC College of Nursing, UIC College of Pharmacy, UIC School of Public Health, and Jane Addams College of Social Work. This work includes mapping and assessing existing DEI education and training initiatives, developing programs and workshops within the UI Health enterprise, and leading social justice initiatives related to recruitment and retention, programming, training, curricular design, and professional development. Adriana has over a decade of experience working at the intersection of academia and health through clinical work, research, and teaching, which has earned her awards in both mentorship and health equity advocacy. She has held positions at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Tufts University, and Boston University School of Public Health contributing to both racial justice education and academic administration in health sciences schools and programs. She has developed and taught courses around health equity, community health needs assessments, and systems of oppression. She brings extensive expertise in public health policy, program design, and advocacy, with a deep understanding of national, state, and community health landscapes. At Every Mother Counts, she serves as Director of Policy and Advocacy, leading initiatives that advance maternal health equity through legislative action, systems change, and cross-sector collaboration. Aika’s work is grounded in the use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform public health solutions, and she is known for her ability to leverage data to drive narrative change and sustainable policy impact. Aika is the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, where she was appointed to help guide state-level health policy and coverage expansion. She has co-authored peer-reviewed publications, including a recent article in Breastfeeding Medicine examining systemic inequities and breastfeeding outcomes. Aika holds a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Hartford. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Population Health at Lehigh University’s College of Health. At Amaka Consulting and Evaluation Services, LLC (ACES), Aika serves as a Senior Research Associate supporting a range of equity-driven public health projects. She is passionate about reproductive justice, immigrant health, and health equity. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Biology from the University of Chicago, where she conducted research on female sexual dysfunction after cancer and menopause and community health in the South Side of Chicago. She conducted research on racial disparities in severe maternal morbidity and mortality and hospital quality at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in her native New York before moving to Boston. She served as the co-chair of the Research & Grants Committee of MOTHER Lab under Dr. Ndidiamaka Amutah-Onukagha for two years conducting research on racial disparities in abortion access, the impact of health policy on maternal health, and the role of psychosocial stress in maternal health outcomes. Previously, Brenna served as the Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee at the Maternal Outcome and Translational Health Equity lab. She is skilled in health education, curriculum development, and culturally tailored communication strategies. Her background includes experience with public health data platforms such as the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) and tools like Qualtrics.  Bri has supported the design and evaluation of violence prevention education programs tailored to student-athletes, Greek Life, and first-year students at the University of Maryland, College Park. They continue to strengthen their repertoire by developing translation work products accessible to a range of audiences and applying implementation science best practices. Bridgette has a knack for qualitative data analysis, systems analysis, and community engagement. They are particularly adept at strategic planning, technical writing, and delivering engaging presentations. One of their proudest achievements is their key role in developing a highly regarded Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) alongside with community elders, health department staff, government employees, residents, and healthcare partners in Alamance County, North Carolina. Additionally, they are grateful to support doula clients exercising their bodily autonomy and navigating some of life’s most complex transitions. With a background in obstetric hospitalist medicine and health equity, Calbeth has consistently led initiatives aimed at dismantling health disparities and advancing reproductive justice. Her work spans academic, nonprofit, government, and private healthcare sectors, where she has served in both clinical and strategic leadership roles. Dr. Alaribe’s expertise includes health equity strategy, program and operations management, and public health research. She is skilled in quality improvement methodologies, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and implementing system-wide process improvements. Her subject matter expertise spans obstetrics and gynecology, maternal health, and reproductive justice. Additionally, she has led community-centered capacity-building initiatives and is an experienced public speaker and facilitator of equity-centered discussions. She served as Program Manager for Health Equity at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, leading equity-focused quality improvement initiatives and establishing the institution’s first health equity steering committee. As Co-Founder of Women in Global Health Nigeria, she built a nationwide network of 500+ Nigerian women in healthcare and partnered with organizations like the Nigeria CDC and Pathfinder International.       Miss Morillo is the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Harlem Bureau of Neighborhood Health at the Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness (CHECW) at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In her work, Miss Morillo develops and implements strategies to foster meaningful, long-lasting relationships with community-based organizations, faith-based institutions, law enforcement, and government agencies. Community engagement theories and frameworks inform the work of Miss Morillo, particularly the Community Engagement Framework created by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as part of their Race to Justice initiative. As a public health professional, Miss Morillo values equity, resident power and inclusion, sustainability, and capacity building in her community engagement approach.       Dr. Chimaobi Amutah brings over 15 years of experience in a variety of education policy, practice, and research settings to the ACES team. In policy, he has worked for the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) for over a decade in numerous roles related to data analysis supporting district and school improvement. In practice, Dr. Amutah has delivered hundreds of lessons in math, world history, U.S. history, and other courses to students in grades 6-10 as a classroom teacher and graduate students as an adjunct professor. In research, he has designed, conducted, and published original qualitative research focused on educational equity issues, especially regarding parental advocacy and class. He currently serves as the Statewide Data Manager for the Office of Comprehensive Support of the NJDOE where he leads research and data analysis efforts supporting New Jersey’s highest need schools. Dr. Amutah holds a bachelor’s degree in African and African American Studies with honors from Harvard University where he won numerous awards for public service and leadership and led youth work in Mattapan, Mission Hill, and Cambridge. Following his time at Harvard, Dr. Amutah taught social studies in Mississippi as part of the Mississippi Teacher Corps program while getting his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Mississippi before additional work as well as mathematics teachers for charter schools within the KIPP network in Arkansas. Dr. Sanders has spent the last 20 years working with non-profits, as an IT health consultant and in academia. Experience and knowledge were gained at both the state (MO Medicaid, ND Medicare) and federal (CMS impact analysis ICD9 to ICD10, USDOT) levels about the significant facets of community-based participatory research, process/outcome evaluations, public health (BIPOC, maternal/child) health policy, quality improvement, coupled with the importance of social justice.       Lorraine is a social epidemiologist, sexual and reproductive health advocate, and youth health educator. Lorraine has over 15 years’ public health experience in research, education, and program implementation in the areas of HIV/AIDs and Sexual and Reproductive Health. Lorraine has extensive training in epidemiological methods, with a keen understanding of health inequities and associated downstream health disparities. Lorraine’s work experience is broad in scope and includes providing high-quality and cost-effective project management of federally and privately sponsored research at academic institutions, conducting randomized controlled trials, and consulting on community needs assessments. Her most extensive work experience took place at academic institutions where she worked in HIV prevention research, with a focus on reducing young urban women’s sex risk. Lorraine has managed multiple research teams, provided oversight to the technology and online security arms of the research team, worked directly with the principal investigator to plan, implement, and disseminate research findings at academic and research institutions, and presented research findings at domestic and international conferences. She has a strong track record in building teams, supervising and mentoring emerging public health scholars, professionals, and students from diverse disciplines. Lorraine has demonstrated a commitment to advancing health equity. For her doctoral research, she leveraged my epidemiological training to investigate how social and structural determinants influence Black women’s sexuality to mitigate SRH inequities, conducting two quantitative secondary research analyses, and collecting primary data for a qualitative analysis using focus group data.       Octavia Goodman is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Health Services Research, with a focus on Applied Health Research at Old Dominion University. Over the course of Octavia’s academic journey, she was awarded the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Training (MHRT) Program Award through the University of Michigan School of Public Health and has served as a student fellow in injury prevention through the Society for Public Health Education and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She has over six years of public health experience focus on health services research, adolescent health, population health, and global health. In addition to her academic experience, Octavia works as a Health Science Specialist in the government industry. In this position, Octavia serves as a research coordinator and qualitative data analyst on various research-based and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) projects and is responsible for the evaluation of public health implementation projects and programs using qualitative methods related to the assessment and improvement of program efficiency and effectiveness.       Rachel Pride, MPH (she/her/hers) is a maternal and child health researcher and advocate based in Boston, MA. She graduated from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in 2020, where she focused on reproductive health and decision-making in adolescents; the impact of early adversity on child development; and pregnancy care in correctional facilities. Before that, she studied neuroscience at DePaul University in Chicago where she did her capstone project on class disparities in early childhood brain development and stress neurobiology. Currently, she manages a prospective birth cohort study at MGH which focuses on perinatal and early childhood risk and resilience factors to pediatric- and adult-onset psychopathology, for which she designs, manages, and deploys surveys via REDCap; meets with important hospital stakeholders across multiple departments including Psychiatry, Neonatology, and OB/GYN; designs and runs process evaluations; and manages regulatory documents and a small research support staff. In addition, she recently completed a two-year evaluation of NASTAD's National Harm Reduction Technical Assistance Center, for which she collected, compiled, and analyzed both quantitative and qualitative data on implementation gaps, program acceptability, and program impact.       Ugochi J. Oguh is a passionate public health and clinical research professional committed to enhancing healthcare quality, improving health outcomes, and advancing innovation. With years of experience in evidence-based research, she conducts critical and rapid evidence reviews to support regulatory decision-making related to medical device performance, patient safety, and coverage policies. She has managed clinical research projects across a variety of health areas, including healthcare access, digital health, and product safety and efficacy. 
 Ugochi specializes in comparative effectiveness research and patient-centered outcomes research. She is highly skilled in systematic review methods, survey methodology, and program evaluation. She has developed strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work. Her cross-cutting expertise supports data-driven insights that inform both clinical practice and policy.
 Throughout her career, Ugochi has played a key role in leading and supporting impactful research efforts that inform healthcare regulation and policy. She has produced evidence reviews that directly contribute to national decision-making on medical devices and patient safety. Her work has supported initiatives aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of digital health tools and expanding access to care, contributing to improved health outcomes across populations. At ACES, Ugochi supports evidence evaluation initiatives by conducting systematic and rapid reviews to inform regulatory and policy decisions.       Yoann came to Massachusetts from Haiti. She is fluent in Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish. Yoann’s interest in public health is due to the many health barriers that she witnessed in her native country and the health inequities throughout the world. Yoann’s areas of interest include health policy issues, social justice, access to health care, infectious disease and disease prevention, emergency preparedness, and substance use disorder. She received a BA in Latin American and Iberian Studies with a concentration in Translation & Interpretation from the University of Massachusetts Boston and completed her MPH at Nova Southeastern University.
